Have you set your goals for 2017 yet? If you are like most of us, you have thought about goals and may even have a few ideas firmly ingrained in your brain. However, what is the likelihood of achieving those goals? Experts agree that the chance of achieving your goal increases immensely if it is written down.
Several years ago I came upon the SMART template for goal setting. SMART is an acronym. The template helps you formulate goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound. Here is a link for the template SMART_GOALS_Template_Triskelion. The first page of this document explains what a SMART goal is and how to formulate one. The second page is for creating the goal. You can copy the second page for each goal that you want to create. Also available is a .pdf version that is better for hand written goal setting. It also contains bullet points for goal setting. Between the two templates you should have a good idea of how to set a good goal. This template is from www.timvandevall.com and here it is SMART_GOALS_Template_Triskelion2.
Setting goals has many benefits. We should set goals in all areas of our life: professional, physical, spiritual, etc. Good luck with your goal setting activity.
